The Nature of the Negri Body

چکیده
The Negri body is characteristic of the street rabies virus infection. Although there have been a number of studies on the problem of whether the Negri body consists of a reactive product of the cell brought about by the rabies virus multiplication or contains virus particles, the final answer is still lacking. Recently, several papers concerning the morphology of the rabies virus have revealed

An Aesthetics of Nature Consequences of Merleau-Ponty’s embodied ontology
In his courses on Nature, the French phenomenologist Maurice Merleau-Ponty clearly does not agree with Kant's antropocentrism. In particular the Kantian notion of the disinterestedness of aesthetic perception is untenable in an aesthetics of nature which is inspired by Merleau-Ponty's thought. Nature and human embodiment are seen as separated in this Kantian tradition. In Merleau-Ponty’s pheno...
متن کاملComparative Studies between Pathogenesis of Street and Fixed Rabies Infection
Comparative neuropathology of Ammon's horn caused by both the street and fixed rabies infection was studied by combined light and electron microscopy. Neurons containing Negri bodies appeared comparatively little damaged. In striking contrast, in the case of fixed virus infection, neurons showed the following variety of degeneration. Lightly damaged neurons showed an increase in the number of s...

متن کاملThe Negri Bodies in Rabies
1. The Negri bodies, as the etiological agent in rabies, present two general types or phases in morphology, in growth, and in reproduction. 2. These two phases are constantly cyclic in their development and correspond (1) to a multiplicative, or schizogonous, and (2) to a reproductive, or sporogonous, life cycle. 3. By the detailed study of these forms and their succeeding stages we are incline...
